Mrs. Penny's Bio

I grew up in Durham, North Carolina, half-way between UNC and Duke University. I graduated from UNC in 1981 with a BA in American Studies, and in 1983 in education. My first position was in Granville County as a 9th grade ELPS teacher. I left the profession in 1989 to raise my children. I returned to teaching in 1995 with Alamance County where I have held Social Studies and  English Language Arts positions. This is my second year teaching 7th grade ELA at Southern Middle.
